New York Jets coach Rex Ryan watched intently. So did his twin brother, Rob, defensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints. At 6-foot-4 and 342 pounds, it’s hard not to notice Meriden’s John Jenkins, who worked out before coaches and scouts from all 32 NFL teams during Thursday’s University of Georgia pro day. At last month’s NFL combine, Jenkins interviewed with teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans, Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars and bench pressed 225 pounds for 30 reps. Jenkins was saving his best for Thursday’s pro day in which he and 17 of his Bulldogs teammates worked out in hopes of improving their draft status in April!!
