This page is in Memory of Lorenzo and Tatiana Cruz. Two Amazing and Beautiful children involved in a fatal car accident and hit by a drunk driver on November 3rd, 2013. This is a special page for them, their siblings, and for their Parents, Mike and Gena. This is also for famliy, friends and everyone else who was and has been touched by their story. Please feel free to share thoughts, prayers, stories, memories and especially photos.
May this be a reminder of How important it is to NEVER Drink and Drive. Although we know these Angels are now with the Lord and in a better place than all of us, they were still taken so soon at only 8 years old and 5 years old. They will ALWAYS be missed, NEVER be forgotten and FOREVER be Loved and in our hearts.
A memorial fund has been set up for the Cruz and Schroder families,
who are mourning the loss of their two children, Tatiana Cruz, 5, and
Lorenzo Cruz, 8. The children’s father, Michael Cruz, was raised
in Middletown and the two children had been attending Middletown schools
until the beginning of this month. The crash occurred in the
early morning Sunday at the intersection of Broad Street and Gale Avenue
when the car the children were riding in was rear-ended by an SUV while
waiting at a stop light, police reported. The children’s mother,
Gina Schroder, and her 12-year-old son Alejandro Schroder, are still
hospitalized. Their father was treated and released, according to
reports.
The driver of the second car, Israel Gonzalez, 29, of Meriden, has been charged with evading responsibility after police say he left the SUV at the scene and ran away. Police are still investigating what caused the crash. The family has set up the Cruz and Schroder Memorial Fund and donations may be mailed in care of David R. Cavanaugh, Vice President, People’s United Bank, 1310 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield 06109.
