5 X Grammy Award winning Producer/Singer Songwriter is teaming up with West Philadelphia's own Rising Star, Artist, Entrepreneur and Actor, Tone Trump on a joint EP Titled, Ahkilo.
Ceelo Green, beloved musical legend , actor and businessman who Tone labels as a "humble and honorable musical genius," is getting it from the mud again exploring his hip hop roots with his sight set on creating an intrinsic and powerful project that explores the black experience like never before.
“Tone and I have aligned ourselves for a common cause,” says CeeLo. “Becoming a unified front, pushing the line forward for the sake of a bolder, braver yet balanced exploration embellishing on the Black experience with the experience of two illustrious and independent careers. We’re calling the EP AKHILO for culture, commonwealth and the controlled substance of the content.”
The Philadelphia Artist and self proclaimed and Proven Greatest Hustler Alive, equally humbled and honored by the collaboration , looks forward to bringing an authentic honest classic that tells these important stories that an audience can vibe, learn and be inspired by from the street to the board room.
“ I’m working on the most important music project of my career, mashallah, with my brother, legendary five-time Grammy winner CeeLo Green,” says Tone. “I’m challenging myself to make timeless, authentic and powerful music.
“There are so many things going on in this world and as a Black man, a Muslim and leader of men, I know how important and needed this project is,” Tone adds. “Stay tuned, we’re about to feed the DJs, Internet and the streets so heavy. AKHILO, is set to release later this spring and the two artists have dropped the first single “5,” off of the EP to set off the upcoming release. An amazing soulful and street buzz track (also produced by CeeLo) that has been garnering major AirPlay on major stations across the country.
