The 2016 AIDS Walk will be on April 16th beginning at the New Haven Green.

Event Information
On April 16th, 2016, hundreds of students and community members will take part in an initiative to combat the AIDS epidemic in the greater New Haven area. The twelfth annual AIDS Walk New Haven is a campaign led by Yale University’s AIDS Walk New Haven Board in collaboration with community members, local colleges and universities, and the Mayor’s Task Force on AIDS.
The event will begin on the New Haven Green where there will be numerous speakers, performance groups, children’s activities, and more. The 5K walk will follow a route through downtown New Haven. Once participants return to the Green, more speakers and performers will take the stage. Raffle prize winners and top fundraisers will be announced as the event comes to a close.


Tentative Schedule:

11:15AM    Performance by Groove Dance Company
11:30AM    Speaker
11:45AM    Performance by Mixed Company of Yale
12:00PM    Performance by Jashan Bhangra Dance Company
12:15PM    Stretching and Yoga
12:30PM    Walk begins
1:45PM      Walkers return
2:00PM      Speaker
2:30PM      Performance by Pitches and Tones at Yale
2:45PM      Performance by Yale Dancers
3:00PM      Raffle Drawing and Closing


What to Bring

Donations- If you have received any cash contributions, be sure to bring them on the day of the walk so we can add them to your fundraising total. We also accept credit and debit card donations on the day of the walk.
People- Invite your friends and family to join you and walk as a team!
Food/Drinks- We will have stations throughout the walk route with water bottles and snacks, but you may want to bring your own as well. 
Comfortable Shoes- You're going to be walking 5 kilometers, so wear comfortable shoes that are broken in.  
Please note that bicycles or skateboards are not allowed on the route. Pets and baby strollers are allowed!
